Step 2

Our admissions process is based on several criteria to ensure that each child can thrive fully within our school community.

The first step is a screening process, which helps determine whether the child meets the academic and social requirements of our school.

We then take into account other factors such as siblings, the order in which applications are received, school reports or daycare evaluations, and the questionnaire completed by parents.

Each application is reviewed as a whole to ensure that the child is well-suited to our community and will be able to grow in the best possible environment.

Step 3

You will receive an e-mail informing you of the verdict on your application.

FAQ

What was the selection process that resulted in some children being accepted and others being placed on the waiting list?

Our selection process is designed to ensure fairness and equity among all applicants. We follow a comprehensive prioritization framework that includes the following criteria:

  1. Siblings: Priority is given to applicants who have siblings currently enrolled in the school. This helps maintain family continuity within our school community.
  2. Application Time: Applications are reviewed in the order they are received. Early applications are given higher priority, but this is just one of the factors we consider.
  3. Screening Session: Each child participates in a screening session where we assess their readiness and suitability for our educational environment. This helps us ensure that we can meet each child’s individual needs.
  4. Review of Current Year School Reports or Daycare Assessments: We also review the applicant’s current year school reports or daycare assessments to gain a comprehensive understanding of their academic performance, social skills, and overall development.
  5. Parent Questionnaire and Expectations: We carefully review the responses provided by parents in the questionnaire to understand their expectations and how they align with our school’s values and offerings.

Based on the combination of these criteria, we create a ranked list of applicants. Those who meet the highest number of criteria are offered admission first. Once all available spots are filled, remaining qualified applicants are placed on a waiting list.

We strive to ensure that every child admitted is a good fit for our school community and will thrive in our educational setting. Being placed on the waiting list does not reflect negatively on the child’s abilities or potential; it simply means that we have reached our capacity for the current admissions cycle.

We appreciate your understanding and are here to answer any further questions you may have.

I applied for my child very early, as soon as admissions opened. How is it that my child was not accepted?

We understand your concerns and would like to clarify our admissions process to ensure fairness and equity among all applicants.

We follow a specific prioritization framework, which includes the following criteria:

  1. Siblings: Priority is given to applicants who already have siblings enrolled in the school.
  2. Application Time: While early applications are indeed prioritized, this is just one of several factors considered.
  3. Screening Session: All applicants undergo a screening session to assess their readiness and suitability for our educational environment.
  4. Review of Current Year School Reports or Daycare Assessments: We also review the applicant’s current year school reports or daycare assessments to gain a comprehensive understanding of their academic performance, social skills, and overall development.
  5. Parent Questionnaire and Expectations: We also evaluate the responses provided by parents in the questionnaire to understand their expectations and how they align with our school’s values and offerings.

While applying early is advantageous, it is not the sole determinant of admission. Each application is reviewed holistically based on the combination of all these factors. We strive to ensure that every child admitted is a good fit for our school community and will thrive in our educational setting.

We appreciate your understanding and encourage you to reach out if you have any further questions or need additional information.

Can you give me the results following the screening process?

We encourage parents to review our full admission criteria to gain a better understanding of the selection process. However, due to the high volume of applicants, we are unable to provide individual feedback on each student’s screening results.

What should I be doing now that my child is on the waiting list?

Here are some proactive measures you can take to stay prepared and improve your chances of securing a spot:

  1. Prepare for Openings: Be ready to respond quickly if a spot becomes available. This might mean having all necessary documents and any required payments ready to go.
  2. Explore Alternatives: While waiting, consider looking into other schools or educational programs. Having a backup plan ensures that your child will have a secure and enriching learning environment regardless of the outcome.
  3. Stay Connected: Participate in any school events, open houses, or community activities. This keeps you connected with the school community and informed about any potential opportunities.
  4. Support Your Child: Continue to engage your child in educational activities and programs that will prepare them for the school environment. This could include extracurricular activities, tutoring, or other enrichment programs.
  5. Reapply if Necessary: If your child is not admitted for the upcoming school year, consider reapplying for the following year. Each admissions cycle is independent, and reapplying could improve your chances as circumstances change.

We understand that being on the waiting list can be stressful, but staying proactive and engaged can make a significant difference. If you have any further questions or need additional guidance, please do not hesitate to reach out to our admissions team.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.

What is the chance that I can still secure a spot for the upcoming school year?

While we understand the importance of planning for your child’s education, it’s essential to note that our admissions process is highly competitive and based on several criteria to ensure fairness and equity.

Here are a few key points to consider:

  1. Waiting List: If your child is currently on the waiting list, there is still a possibility of securing a spot. Openings can occur if accepted students withdraw or if additional spaces become available.
  2. Continued Interest: We recommend that you keep in regular contact with our admissions office to express your continued interest. This helps us understand your commitment and keeps you informed of any changes in availability.
  3. Future Applications: If your child is not admitted for the upcoming school year, you are welcome to reapply for the following year. Each admissions cycle is independent, and reapplying could improve your chances as circumstances change.
  4. Alternative Options: While waiting, you might also consider exploring other educational opportunities to ensure that your child has a secure and enriching learning environment.

Although we cannot guarantee a spot, we encourage you to stay engaged with our admissions team. They can provide updates and any additional steps you might take to enhance your child’s chances of admission.

Thank you for your understanding and patience. If you have any further questions or need more information, please do not hesitate to reach out.

Is it possible that I can speak with someone that I know personally within the board or staff members to help my child get admitted?

We understand that you want the best for your child, and we appreciate your interest in our school. However, to ensure fairness and integrity in our admissions process, we adhere strictly to our established criteria and procedures.

Our prioritization framework includes:

  1. Siblings: Priority is given to applicants with siblings currently enrolled in the school.
  2. Application Time: Early applications are given higher priority, but this is just one of several factors considered.
  3. Screening Session: We assess each child’s readiness and suitability for our educational environment.
  4. Review of Current Year School Reports or Daycare Assessments
  5. Parent Questionnaire and Expectations: We evaluate how well the parents’ expectations align with our school’s values and offerings.

To maintain the integrity and fairness of the process, we do not allow personal relationships with staff members or members of the admissions committee to influence admission decisions. This policy ensures that every applicant is given equal consideration based on the established criteria.

We appreciate your understanding and are here to answer any further questions you may have or to provide additional information about our admissions process.

Thank you for your cooperation.
